  1. While it is easy to quantify comprehension, it is no measure of reading ease. For that, we can look at a number of other measures, for example saccades. In the mid 70s, Rolf Rehe wrote and published his Masters Thesis regrading legibility, it was titled, “Type: How to make it most legible.” Though it is a product of its times and technology, the book, because of its sound research methods, remains relevant for designers and typographers today.
